Volunteer-Parent Positions and Opportunities

Below are positions that parents fill to help the team run smoothly. 

Board Member

• Adult leadership role for the team

• Manages an assigned program or activity group

• Works with Board to ensure all programs and team activities and well-planned and executed

Volunteer Coach

• Attends practices regularly. Typically assigned to a group of 6-8 riders to coach and mentor.

• Various certification levels are available from Level 1 (there to ride and support), Level 2 (group leader) to Level 3 (lead coaches). Works at level of training to help athletes progress in their goals.

Trailer Boss (2-3 positions)

• Manages trailer maintenance and needs

• Ensures trailer is ready for races and other events

Social Media Butterflies (2-3 positions)

• Posts materials to social media channels

• Creates stoke for team and special events

• Coordinates website creation and upkeep

Food Committee (5-7 positions)

• Coordinates food for events and activities

• Works with assigned families for food at races

Team Photographer

• Takes pictures/video of all participants, activities

• Uploads all pictures to team Google Photos (and encourages others to do the same)

Tow Trailer (to/from race)

• Pick-up trailer the day before race

• Help with final packing (people will bring things to your house)

• Tow trailer to race and drive in the Pitzone to drop off (you will have a pitzone parking pass for the day)

• Take Trailer home after Pitzone is taken down

• Deliver trailer to designated storage

Race Rider Check-In (1 volunteer, 3 shifts)

• Carries a radio to communicate to all coaches at the race

• Greets the rider as they arrive

• Looks for their name on the wave sheet (taped to the table) and checks them off

• Write the call-up number on their arm with a Sharpie

• Instructs the rider on raceplate placements (on the bike, on the body)

• Remind them of their time to meet coaches for warm-up and staging time

• Encourages them to look over bike for any mechanical issues

Pitzone Setup for Races (3-5 volunteers)

• Assists in parking of trailer (if not done the night before)

• Helps setup all tents, walls to protect from sun/weather

• Sets all tables and chairs

• Set out radios and harnesses for coaches

• Setup rider check-in area

• Setup bike racks

Pitzone Take down for Races (3-5 volunteers)

• Generally clean items before taking equipment down

• Take down all equipment, put into trailer in an orderly manner

• Take all garbage to designated location at the Race

• Helps person towing trailer as needed
